Description: MEWSAFE Ointment contains Mupirocin 2% w/w, a topical antibiotic that works by preventing the growth of certain bacteria. It is specifically effective against Staphylococcus aureus, including methicillin-resistant strains (MRSA), Streptococcus species, and other skin-infecting bacteria. It is commonly used to treat superficial skin infections like impetigo, folliculitis, infected wounds, boils, and minor cuts or abrasions.

MEWSAFE acts by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death. It is well-tolerated on the skin, with minimal systemic absorption, making it safe and effective for localized infections. This formulation is ideal for patients who need fast relief with a broad antibacterial spectrum and minimal resistance development.
