FORMULATION: Liquid Injection
Description: AGROCINE 500 Injection contains Amikacin Sulfate, a semi-synthetic aminoglycoside antibiotic derived from kanamycin A. It is highly effective against a wide range of gram-negative bacteria including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Proteus, Serratia, and Acinetobacter species.

Amikacin works by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit of bacterial cells, inhibiting protein synthesis and ultimately leading to bacterial death. It is particularly effective in treating hospital-acquired infections and is often used when other antibiotics have failed or are contraindicated.

Indications:
* Severe systemic infections
* Urinary tract infections (complicated and uncomplicated)
* Respiratory tract infections
* Intra-abdominal infections
* Skin and soft tissue infections
* Septicemia
* Bone and joint infections
* Post-surgical infections

# Stability: Stable in IM/IV preparations and compatible with most diluents.
# Formulation Strength: 500 mg/2 ml vial

* Nausea

* Fever

# Serious (Less Common but Important):
* Ototoxicity (hearing loss, tinnitus, vertigo)
* Nephrotoxicity (elevated serum creatinine, renal dysfunction)

* Hypersensitivity reactions
* Headache and dizziness
